Art$Pay is currently funded in six ways.

1. Generous donations from the community members who attend our shows.

2. Annual nominal membership fees of professional and emerging artists.

3. In-kind contributions and exhibition funding from the City of Kitchener.

4. A grant to support “Window to Waterloo Region” artist fees, the rotating gallery window from the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, Spring 2022.

5. Income from the rental of arts display units (found in our marketplace).

6. 20% commission from art sales at Art$Pay sponsored events. Artists only pay if they sell their work.

How is the money spent?

The funding allows Art$Pay to provide artists with exhibition opportunities to display and sell their work, pay experts to educate and inspire member artists and supporting members related to the artist practice, rent space in the 44 Gaukel art space in the City of Kitchener and to pay artists for their time and efforts to engage the community. Art$Pay also pays an essential admin support person to respond to emails, maintain the website and social media channels and help plan events.

We are also grateful to our volunteers who help make everything possible by filling the support and person-power gaps.
